ABOUT THE SEMINAR

The emerging Indian society is confronted with many social issues and problems, which are either structural (like inequality of caste, class and gender; poverty and unemployment; problems of weaker sections and minorities and population explosion) or familial (like dowry, domestic violence, intra and inter-generational conflict and problems of the aged) in nature. This is high time that we make a sincere attempt to understand and project them into their structural context, linkages & interrelationships. This seminar aims to discuss these issues and problems; to underline their causes; to assess the measures being undertaken to deal with them; and finally to suggest ways & means to come out of these issues & problems.
